Dean Keates insists Wrexham are still a work in progress after Alex Reid’s strike gave them a 1-0 National League win at Boreham Wood. On-loan Fleetwood Town striker Reid netted from a Paul Rutherford corner just past the hour mark to make it three goals in four games.
Dean Keates admitted his disappointment as Wrexham’s FA Cup hopes were ended at fellow National League outfit AFC Fylde. Danny Rowe’s first-half goal was enough to give Fylde a spot in Monday’s 1st Round draw for the fourth time in five seasons.
Alex Reid has returned to the Racecourse Ground for a second loan spell with Wrexham. The Fleetwood Town striker’s initial spell lasted 55 days until the victory over Eastleigh on October 22.
Wrexham have signed a 6ft 4ins German striker. Ferdinand Takyi has joined the Dragons from Bognor Regis Town, although it is unlikely international clearance will go through in time for him to play in the FA Trophy tie at home against Harrogate Town at home on Saturday. Tackyi, from Bremen, moved to England several years […]
Mark Beck, Harrogate Town’s 6ft 5ins striker, ended Wrexham AFC’s FA Trophy ambitions at the first hurdle. Sunderland-born Beck, 23, scored both Harrogate goals in a 2-0 win at The Racecourse. Wrexham manager Dean Keates would have loved a trophy run, but the priority for Wrexham is promotion to the Football League. They are currently […]
Wrexham expect a capacity attendance for Saturday’s crunch clash with Tranmere Rovers at the Racecourse (3pm). Rovers are making the 30-miles trip from Birkenhead to North Wales knowing a win will lift them above their Vanarama National League rivals. There will be well over 8,000 spectators at Wrexham with less then 150 tickets remaining. Former […]
Wrexham are hitting the road in their quest for promotion to the Football League. The Reds will move to within a point of Vanarama National League leaders Macclesfield Town with a win at Gateshead this evening (Tuesday), while they make the trip to Guiseley in West Yorkshire on Saturday. Manager Dean Keates and his players […]
Wrexham have 11 fixtures left to fire up their Football League promotion dream. The Reds are unbeaten in 11 Vanarama National League matches, but eight of those have ended in draws including last night’s goalless result at Solihull Moors. Manager Dean Keates and his team are frustrated after dropping 16 points during their unbeaten run, […]
Newport County will head to Chesterfield on Mayday for their rearranged League Two clash with the Derbyshire club. Manager Michael Flynn and his players will hope they are still in contention for a play-offs place when they head north. County are 12th in League Two with seven games left to play, 11 points outside the […]
Frank Nouble reckons Newport County will attract a 7,000-plus sell-out attendance at Rodney Parade on Saturday – because he is playing against his former club. “It’ll be full to capacity because I’m going down there,” says Nouble, one of three former Exiles’ players in the Colchester United squad along with Ryan Jackson and Aaron Collins. […]
Wrexham eased into the FA Trophy second round thanks to three first half goals in their 3-0 home win against Boston United. Manager Graham Barrow made five changes from the FA Cup second-round replay defeat at Newport and said afterwards: “All I said to the players was we’ve been boasting a bit about how strong […]
Wrexham gave notice they are going to scrap and battle for success under new manager Bryan Hughes. Their 1-0 home win against Dagenham and Redbridge was testimony to the team spirit and togetherness in the Dragons camp. Substitute Stuart Beavon scored a 74th minute winner for Wrexham, who moved third in the Vanarama National League […]
